Winning the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship (Awarded by the AGNSW) in 2009, Nicole Kelly has also been awarded the Hurford Hardwood Portrait Prize (Awarded by Michael Brand) 2018, Hazelhurst Gallery Local Artist Award 2011, Gruner Prize (AGNSW) 2008 and Robert Le Gay Brereton Drawing Prize (AGNSW) 2007.

Kelly has undertaken Residencies in France (2018, 2017, 2010), Spain (2016), the US (2018).Major public commissions include Sutherland hospital and St George hospital. In 2018 she was the recipient of an Australian Post Graduate Award to undertake research in Contemporary Painting and Poetic Literature. Kelly’s work is held in public and private collections nationally, in France, Spain and the UK.
