Proposal; Project description/ brief summary:

1) Describe the Artwork What is the body of work? I was thinking of developing a body of works called- Home Grown - sharing my love of australian landscapes. Since I returned to the farm back in May I have a series of photos so I have done some research. Making note of the colours, textures and sounds too.

What is the time frame? 4 weeks.

I have 4 large canvas's size 80cm x 100cm which I can depict 4 scenes which can be created from my memories of growing up on a farm in the Hunter Valley. I will

use trees as a connection to my memory. The trees such as Snow Gums, Populus, Indian cedar trees and wattle.

2) What is the Concept? translating my landscapes to create a conversarion. Since I returned to the farm back in May I have a series of photos so I have done some research. Making notes of the colours, textures and sounds too.

What are the key concepts? What is the subject matter?

Why are you grouping these particular works together? Ihave always wanted to do this as this is where my love of the australian bush began.

Is the work exploring the formal possibilities of a particular medium, or is it more centered around a certain subject or issue?

Artist Bio

I have been painting fulltime for the last 12 months. Before that I was in the corporate graphic design industry for 30 years, starting off as a finished artist then developing skills in project management which lead me to start two design studio business's over the last 20 years which after awhile had taken its toll and I needed to regroup, some may call it a mid life crisis!!

So here I am deciding to pursue my love of painting landscapes. Growing up in the Upper Hunter Valley I always had a love of painting which I did for my HSC and also joining a local art group by Max Watters. I have always had a love for the Australian bush especially the shapes, colours and textures that it creates. I hope to develop my painting skills over the next year so one day I can share and exhibit my work.
