NICOLE KELLY
SUNDAY 14 OCTOBER l 4-6 PM

583 ELIZABETH STREET REDFERN

Bundanon l Tasmania l Provence

We are honoured to present this new suite of work by Nicole Kelly, chasing the light over three different landscapes.

‘I am fascinated with how, with the painted image, to intersect the poetics of everyday life and the environments I inhabit. My work comes from a place of personal response to my surroundings, the relationship between landscape, literary texts and the discipline of painting’.

Nicole has recently returned from a residency in France, in a year where her work is gaining more and more acknowledgment and acclaim. The Director of the AGNSW, Michael Brand awarded Nicole the first prize in the Hurford Hardwood Portrait Prize at the Lismore Regional Gallery. This year she has painted in Bundanon NSW, toured Tasmania, resided in Provence, France as well as being a finalist in the Paddington Art Prize, Black Swan and the Portia Geach. Nicole also lists one of her 2018 highlights being included in the group exhibition featuring women artists, ‘The way we see ourselves’, curated by Caitlin Casey which recently finished at the West End, Art Space, Melbourne.
